WHAT TO WATCH FOR

Tuesday’s an absolutely loaded nonconference day. The first matchup of the day pits Florida against Florida State in another edition of this Sunshine State rivalry. Florida owns two victories over the Seminoles this season, both of which took place in Gainesville. This matchup will take place up in Tallahassee, as UF looks for a season sweep of their rivals to the north.

Meanwhile, Georgia takes a trip up north to battle the Clemson Tigers. Georgia and Clemson are two of the best teams in the nation, each ranking in the Top 10 of the RPI. The Tigers have gotten it done with pitching this year, posting a team ERA of 3.14 through their first 32 games of the season. They have scored just 6.0 runs per game this year though, which is nearly a full run difference between Georgia’s 6.9 runs per game. We’ll see if UGA’s bats can get it done against Clemson on Tuesday night.

Another intriguing matchup will pit Ole Miss against Southern Miss. The 22-9 Golden Eagles are 15th in the nation but 49th in the RPI. They will tackle the 3rd-ranked Rebels, who sit 7th in the RPI as of now with a 27-6 record. The Rebels will catch a bit of a break, as they’ll miss Southern Miss pitcher Nick Sandlin, who’s battled a shoulder injury lately.
