PREVIEW
Mississippi State
After opening the season with an upset of defending national champion LSU, the Bulldogs shocked everyone with a 21-14 loss to Arkansas in week two. Where does this team sit right now? It’s nearly impossible to say.
KJ Costello has looked like one of the SEC’s best quarterbacks, leading the conference with 936 passing yards in two games, as Leach has instilled the air raid offense. As is often the case with air raid teams, though, it only works when it works. Other times, you get last week’s result when the Bulldogs struggled mightily against Arkansas.
Kentucky
While the Wildcats come into the game at 0-2, they very easily could be 1-1 after dropping a tough 42-41 game to Ole Miss last week in overtime. Christopher Rodriguez and Terry Wilson combined for five rushing touchdowns, as the Wildcats seem to have found something that works for them.
Will the rushing attack continue against a Bulldogs squad that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game in the SEC? The answer to that question may very well be the difference in the game.
