Mizzou vs. Arkansas 2019: Time, TV channel, odds

The Tigers look to avoid dropping one to the lowly Razorbacks.

NCAA Football: Missouri at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The high expectations for the Missouri Tigers this season have not been met. At 5-6, they have one more opportunity to hit the .500 mark. They won’t be going bowling thanks to a (rather ridiculous) NCAA ruling that banned them from the postseason, so a win can merely quote unquote “salvage” this season.

You would think that it would be easy for them to attain that win. They face off with the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday afternoon down in Fayetteville. The Hogs are one of the worst teams in the country and one of the worst SEC teams in recent memory. Just about everyone who’s faced them this year has blown their doors off. They have been uncompetitive and, well, just plain bad.

Yet for some reason, you can’t rule out Mizzou fumbling this one, can you? The Tigers suffered two rather ridiculous losses earlier this season. One was to the Vanderbilt Commodores, the other to the Kentucky Wildcats. The Tigers were double-digit favorites in both games, and despite that, they fell to both VU and UK in rather short order. If Missouri can lose twice as a double-digit fave, then a third time wouldn’t be shocking, would it?

I don’t necessarily think so. I know I’ve been wrong before, but I can’t envision Mizzou dropping this game. I know how bad they’ve been at times, but Arkansas is really, really bad. I know the game is in Arkansas too. But the Hogs are just awful. I think Missouri gets it done here and ends the season at .500.
