There are no real changes in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings.
LSU continues their stint at #1 after their defeat of the Ole Miss Rebels this past weekend. The Tigers’ resume pales in comparison to all the others, so it’s really no surprise that they’re stuck at #1 right now. Ohio State and Clemson remain at #2 and #3 after taking care of business, and finally, after defeating Auburn, Georgia is still at #4 at this juncture, to the surprise of, well, really nobody.
Alabama is still on the outside looking in at #5 coming into this week. It will be interesting to see how that plays itself out, knowing now that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is out for the season. Things likely won’t change after this week, but perhaps they will after the Tide play Auburn in two weeks. Speaking of which, the Tigers are the lowest ranked SEC team at 15th, with Florida sitting above them at 11th currently, with no legitimate upward trajectory likely coming their way beyond a few spots.
