Another week down, another entertaining week of games. Some teams got some much needed wins, while others dropped some games they couldn’t afford to lose.

Auburn got back on the winning track, taking two of three from a reeling Mississippi State. Good for the Tigers, who were reeling themselves. Meanwhile, about three hours away in Tuscaloosa, Texas A&M was able to stem the tide, sweeping the Crimson Tide. The Aggies have now won six in a row overall.

Down in Georgia, it was a hotly contested series between Kentucky and the hosting Bulldogs. Kentucky pulled it out in the end though, taking the rubber match 1-0. Georgia should not hang their head, as all three games were deeply competitive.

Tennessee showed why they are right in the middle of a rebuild. They had Sunday’s game against LSU signed sealed and delivered and were going to escape with at least one win. The ninth inning bought two errors and six runs, three of them coming on a walk off home run as the Vols got swept in a heartbreaking loss.

Georgia-Kentucky has a case for series of the week, but so does Vanderbilt-Ole Miss. Ole Miss took the first game handily, but the Sunday doubleheaders were both back and forth affairs. The Dores won both games 8-7 in seven innings with one being a walk off win.
