What To Watch For

This is another loaded weekend of SEC softball. In Gainesville, the 7th ranked Gators square up with the 12th ranked Gamecocks of South Carolina, the Gators occupy first place in the with a record of 9-3 within the conference while South Carolina sits one game behind them at 8-4.

14th ranked Tennessee and their surprising conference record of only 5-7 play host to LSU and their 14th ranked squad. The Tigers are still in contention for the top spot in the conference, as they sit only a game and a half below Florida.

Aggieville will be stirring for their 9th ranked Aggies when 19th ranked Kentucky visits this weekend. A&M is also looking to move up in the conference standings as they sit two games below Florida, while Kentucky wants to turn around what has been a rough time in conference play so far with a record of 3-8.

The 20th ranked Razorbacks and the 15th ranked Crimson Tide in Fayetteville. Both teams are 6-6 within SEC play, and are looking to win this series to improve their respective resumes for the Women’s College World Series.

The Mississippi schools go at it in Oxford this weekend. Mississippi State, while ranked 24th, is only 4-8 in conference and have lost five of their last six in conference play. Ole Miss sits in the cellar at 4-11.

10th ranked Auburn waltzes into Columbia, Missouri, having won 13 of their last 16 since being swept by LSU. Mizzou is having a rough season under new coach Gina Fogue, but are coming off a dominant win over Omaha, and have been a tough out for Georgia and LSU the past could weeks.

5th ranked Georgia takes its turn playing a weekend nonconference series when the Mercer Bears come to Athens.
