The Alabama Crimson Tide remain the No. 1 team in the land.
After their win over the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night, the Crimson Tide are the top team in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY Coaches Poll. The Tide were nearly unanimous choices in both polls for the top spot. The Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers were the others to receive No. 1 votes in the polls this week after wins over the Indiana Hoosiers and Akron Zips.
Apart from ‘Bama, no other SEC team could finesse their way into the Top 10. That said, five other teams from the conference are included. The LSU Tigers, Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs are all featured in the Top 20. They are the consensus 12th-, 13th- and 15th-ranked teams in the country at this point in time inside both polls.
The Tennessee Volunteers stands at 25th still in the AP Poll after their 2OT win on Monday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. In the Coaches Poll, the Vols land at 21st, a three-spot jump from standing at 24th prior to opening weekend.
The Florida Gators, meanwhile, saw dips in the polls following their 33-17 loss to the Michigan Wolverines. The Gators dropped five spots to 22nd in the AP Top 25, and tumbled eight spots down to 24th in the USA TODAY poll.
