The SEC announced the Week 4 Players of the Week on Monday.
Running back Damien Harris is this week’s Offensive Player of the Week. The Alabama Crimson Tide tailback performed marvelously in the 59-0 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Harris ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns on the day. The 151 yards was a career-high mark for the junior.
Florida Gators defensive lineman Cece Jefferson, meanwhile, won Defensive Player of the Week. In the Gators’ win over the Kentucky Wildcats, Jefferson had 1.5 sacks, five tackles and three TFL. The mark of 1.5 sacks was a career-high mark for him.
The Special Teams Player of the Week is Texas A&M Aggies speedster Christian Kirk. Kirk was as dynamic as they come on Saturday in the Aggies’ win over the Arkansas Razorbacks. He picked up 136 return yards on kickoffs and scored his first-ever KR TD. He also amassed 100 yards on five catches with two receiving TDs.
This week’s Freshman of the Week was Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm. Fromm continued his success under center, leading the ‘Dawgs to a massive 31-3 over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He threw for 201 yards on just 12 pass attempts and threw two TDs as well, including one on the opening play on a flea flicker.
Linemen Ross Pierschbacher of Alabama and Marlon Davidson of Auburn Tigers were the Linemen of the Week. It’s both men’s first time winning the award this season.
