The Texas A&M Aggies face a good news/bad news situation this week as they welcome the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns to College Station.
ULL has allowed 57 points per game in their two games this year, including 66 to Tulsa last week. That’s a lot.
However, their offense has also been top-notch, scoring 46.5 per game.
So, while an A&M team that struggled to get their offense going last week will benefit from facing a porous defense, they have to be careful on defense because ULL can score in a hurry.
Adding to the intrigue going into the game is the fact that Jake Huberak is likely not going to be playing. Huberak, who has been dealing with an injury since training camp, provided a second-half spark that led the Aggies to victory last week.
While Kellen Mond should be able to find holes in ULL’s defense, he has to be better than last week.
A&M should be able to handle ULL, though. A loss would be absolutely disastrous and could lead to a very uncomfortable week in College Station leading into the Aggies’ SEC opener in Arkansas.
