Teams are still chasing after the Alabama Crimson Tide, who remain the No. 1 team in the land.
After grabbing a win over the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday , the Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 and the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. The Tide were once again nearly unanimous choices in both polls for the top spot. The Clemson Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners were the others to receive No. 1 votes in the polls this week after wins over the Auburn Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
No other SEC teams muscled their way into the Top 10 again. But once again, five other teams from the conference are in the mix. Auburn, the LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs are all featured in the Top 20. UGA is 13th in both polls after defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. LSU is 12th in the AP poll, but 11th in the Coaches Poll after a win over Chattanooga. Auburn slipped to 15th and 17th in the AP and USA TODAY polls after losing at Clemson.
Once more, the Tennessee Volunteers and Florida Gators are in the Top 25. The Vols jumped to 23rd in the AP Top 25 but fell to 23rd in the Coaches Poll. This came after their 42-7 win over Indiana State. Florida, of course, did not play this weekend after their game was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.
The South Carolina Gamecocks, Kentucky Wildcats, Vanderbilt Commodores and Mississippi St. Bulldogs all received votes in one or both polls this week.
