As a result of Hurricane Harvey’s impact on the Houston area, the BYU Cougars and LSU Tigers will not be playing their Week 1 game at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
They will, instead, be playing at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, per a report from The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger.

ESPN announcing soon.
As Dellenger notes, the game’s start time will remain the same.
While it may seem advantageous for LSU to move from a neutral site to one in their home state, there wasn’t much that could be done. Cowboys Stadium and the Alamodome are already booked, as is Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Superdome is simply the most logical option from a variety of viewpoints.
LSU, BYU, ESPN, and all others involved deserve a ton of credit for acting quickly and promptly so as to not put either team or fanbase at a travel disadvantage.
