The Florida Gators made another splash in the recruiting world on Friday, as they were able to get their 12th commit for 2019.
Clewiston, Florida’s Ja’markis Weston, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound player listed as an athlete on 247Sports, committed to the Gators on Friday evening.

Weston is the most recent commit for Florida in a recent run that’s seen their 2018 class balloon up to the Top 15 in the class’ rankings. Their 2019 class has grown by three in the last week with the additions of Weston, Wardrick Wilson of Miami and Cameron Williams of Hollywood, Florida.
Currently, Weston is unranked at this point by 247Sports, but the 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete has plenty of time and room to grow as a player as a rising junior at Clewiston High School. Prior to his commitment, he received an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on the same day that he attended their camp.
So far in his first two years at Clewiston, Weston has logged time at receiver and cornerback.
It’s still extremely early in the 2019 cycle, but Florida’s class has them first in the country right now per 247Sports.
