2017 NCAA Super Regionals Day 4 results, recaps, scores and updates

One final day of play...

NCAA Baseball: College World Series-Vanderbilt vs Virginia Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

WAKE FOREST 8, FLORIDA 6

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons forced a winner-take-all game after Ben Breazeale blasted a walk-off home run in the 11th inning. The Demon Deacons’ 8-6 win over the Gators now pushes this Super Regionals series to the limit as Game 3 is currently underway over on ESPN2.

It took a while for this one to be decided after it originally started on Sunday. Rain forced the game to be suspended until Monday afternoon and off the two teams went, volleying back and forth for quite a while before heading into extra innings.

Florida’s offensive woes may’ve cost them this one as they only amounted eight hits in the 11 innings played. Wake Forest, by contrast, collected 17 hits, which may’ve very well propped them over the top in the end.

Who’s going to Omaha? We’ll soon find out.

FLORIDA 3, WAKE FOREST 0

For the third straight year, the Gators are going to Omaha!

After suffering a loss earlier Monday to force a decisive game three, the Gators got a gigantic outing from Brady Singer, Tyler Dyson, and Alex Faedo en route to the 3-0 win.

The three pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout, walking one and striking out 13 and the Demon Deacons looked listless at the plate. Dyson led the way going five innings and striking out seven, and was bookended by two innings each from Singer and Faedo.

Mike Rivera got Florida on the board with an RBI single in the second inning, and JJ Schwarz provided the thunder with a huge two-run home run in the third, which was more than enough for the Gators.

Florida will be in Bracket Two in Omaha, grouped with TCU, Louisville, and Texas A&M. The Gators open with TCU on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET
