Ford, who hails from Carterville, Illinois, had originally committed to Arkansas back on March 14. Evidently, three months later, Ford has decided to reopen his commitment with plenty of time to go.
Already, it appears that Ford will be visiting some other SEC schools. Per his 247Sports page, he has unofficial visits scheduled to Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge, as the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers will be hosting him on June 17 and June 24. In the wake of Ford’s decommitment, it’s perhaps worth noting that 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong predicted he would head to ‘Bama. Oklahoma still leads his Crystal Ball, but those picks were made prior to his original commitment to Arkansas.
Luke Ford is currently ranked as the top player in Illinois, stands right now as the fourth-best tight end in America and is seated 90th overall among all 2018 recruits. He’s listed at an impressive 6-foot-7 and 250 lbs. as he enters his senior year of high school.
