Micah Parsons, the top-ranked weak-side defensive end in the class of 2018, updated the progress of his recruitment on Friday night.
Parsons posted the nine schools that he still has in the running right now, which included the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC.

Among the others still in pursuit of the best WDE in 2018 are the Florida State Seminoles, Michigan Wolverines, Miami Hurricanes, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State, of course, had Parsons in tow until he decommitted back in April, so it’s not too surprising that he’s kept PSU in the mix.
With that in mind, it’s not too surprising either that Ohio State remains in the mix either. They’re the favorite to land the Harrisburg native, and after taking three unofficial visits from November 2016-April 2017, coupled with attending Junior Day in Columbus, that can’t be all that surprising.
Parsons recently received a visit from Tosh Lupoi, Alabama’s outside linebackers coach, on May 10 per his 247Sports page. ‘Bama has churned out defensive linemen to the NFL like they’re going out of style, so interest from Parsons is hardly surprising. The same could be said for Florida, who typically does well in building up talented defensive linemen, and Georgia ain’t too shabby either. Especially when you look at where UGA’s been in the recruiting game.
It might be formality to wind up seeing Micah Parsons land in Columbus. For now, though, we’ll see how the process plays itself out.
