Since taking the Missouri job in March, Cuonzo Martin has landed the top-ranked recruit in the Class of 2017 in Michael Porter Jr., and now he’s added another.
Jeremiah Tilmon, a 6’10”, 235-pound center from East St. Louis, IL, signed with Missouri today and will play for the Tigers in 2017-18. Tilmon is rated as the #42 overall prospect in the Class of 2017 by Rivals and #39 overall by the 247 Sports composite rating.
Tilmon signed with Illinois in the early signing period, but was released from his letter of intent and re-opened his recruitment after John Groce was fired. He had been rumored to be a Missouri lean and made things official on Monday.
The signing moves Missouri’s 2017 recruiting haul up to the sixth overall nationally, and third in the SEC behind Kentucky and Alabama. Missouri went 8-24 and 2-16 in the SEC last season, but the influx of talent should make them much more competitive in 2017-18.
