There are six games on slate for Mother’s Day with five ranked SEC teams taking the field.
The first game on the slate sees ninth-ranked Mississippi State going on the road to face Georgia at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs split the first two games of the three-game series with the other Bulldogs and have fallen to second in the SEC West, standing a half game back of LSU for first place.
Georgia defeated State 4-1 on Saturday afternoon behind seven strong innings from Kevin Smith. The player to watch in game three is State’s Brent Rooker, who raised his batting average above .406 on Saturday. Rooker leads State with 20 home runs and 68 RBI on the season. Rooker and State’s matchup against UGA can be caught on SEC Network+.
A couple middle of the pack SEC West teams face off in Oxford, Mississippi at 1 p.m. as well as No. 19 Texas A&M faces Ole Miss. The Aggies come into the game 15-11 in the SEC, good for fourth in the SEC West, half a game behind Arkansas for third. The Rebels and Aggies split the first two games of the three-game set. The first-place and ninth-ranked Florida Gators face last place Alabama at 4 p.m. The Gators have taken the first two game of the series in Tuscaloosa, winning 13-6 on Saturday night. The player to watch in this one is JJ Schwarz, who is leading the Gators in both home runs and RBI this season with eight and 43 respectively. The game can be caught on the SEC Network.
There are three other games on the schedule for Mother’s Day, including No. 8 Kentucky hosting Tennessee while No. 16 Arkansas hosts Vanderbilt at 2. And the only non-ranked matchup of the day is between Missouri and South Carolina in Columbia at 2 p.m. ET All of these games can either be caught on the SEC Network or SEC Network+.
