Let’s start with Mississippi State. The Bulldogs had a perfect week, going 4-0 and sweeping Ole Miss. Led by SEC Player of the Week Brent Rooker, the Bulldogs pulled to third in the SEC West at 19-10, and 6-3 in conference play. Mississippi State will play two games against Florida International before hosting (10) Kentucky this weekend in Starkville.

Turning our attention to the SEC’s other undefeated team this week, the Florida Gators. The Gators picked up a win over Florida State before going to Columbia and sweeping the Missouri Tigers. Florida allowed just six runs in the four games. They remain in the middle of the pack in the SEC East, with a chance to make some progress next weekend when they face last-place Tennessee.

Texas A&M had a big week, going 3-1 against Texas State and LSU. SEC Pitcher of the Week Brigham Hill struck out seven in eight shutout innings against the Tigers on Thursday night. The Aggies have a chance to gain ground on another ranked team as (11) Auburn heads to College Station next week.

We’ll have daily schedules of the games this week, as usual. Be sure to check back to Team Speed Kills!
