The Ole Miss Rebels get their second pick off the board in the sixth round as defensive tackle D.J. Jones was just selected by the San Francisco 49ers!

Jones joins Evan Engram as Rebels who’ve been drafted in 2017 as Engram was taken way back with pick 23 in the first round by the New York Giants. Engram and Jones will be on opposite sides if Jones makes the team as the Giants and Niners will play each other in 2017.

He’s not the first player picked from the SEC by GM John Lynch either. Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Reuben Foster was chosen way back in the first round with pick 31, so the Niners now have a bigger SEC presence in this year’s draft class.

Congrats to D.J. Jones and best of luck in the NFL!
