Friday night brings us another brilliant slate of SEC softball action with two ranked matchups headlining the day’s activities. In all, seven ranked squads will take the field, but Florida-Tennessee and Texas A&M-Kentucky promise to be appointment viewing for fans.

Texas A&M (40-5), a team that has risen to number 4 in the nation, is heading to Lexington after coming off a crucial sweep against the ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Aggies are looking to keep their winning ways going following their 2-game slip up earlier this month.

However, Kentucky (32-13) is riding a 6-game win streak heading into this weekend series with the Aggies. The bats of the Wildcats continue to stay red-hot, with Kentucky scoring no fewer than 4 runs in their last 6 outings. This Texas A&M team is not used to losing, and it’ll take all of Kentucky’s offensive firepower to take down this top-5 power.

Now, the biggest matchup of Friday and this weekend is certainly going to be Florida vs. Tennessee, a top-10 battle that will have major seeding implications for the SEC tournament. As it stands, Florida (56-7) is the best team in the country, but they hold a precarious position atop the SEC. Kentucky sits three games back, and getting swept this weekend in Knoxville could spell doom.

Since every SEC player imaginable was already picked in the first round of last night’s NFL Draft and none of you like hockey, you really have no excuse to not post up in front of the tv tonight and watch this impressive slate of games.
