Jalen Hurd, previously a standout with the Tennessee Volunteers, will be joining the Baylor Bears.

On his personal Twitter account Saturday, Hurd announced the move to the Big 12 representative, which in turn is quite the get for new head coach Matt Rhule.

In three years with the Volunteers, Hurd rushed for 2,635 yards, 20 touchdowns, caught 67 passes for 492 yards with six receiving touchdowns and had 3,127 total yards from scrimmage. He played just seven games in 2016, picking up 451 yards on the ground, 81 receiving and five total touchdowns before leaving the team with the intent to transfer.

There’d been rumblings at the time of his transfer that Hurd plans to switch over to wide receiver/tight end after his three years spent as a running back. We’ll see if that comes to fruition later on, but for now, Hurd joins Rhule and the Bears. Best of luck to him with his new squad.
