March 2 SEC softball schedule, game times, TV coverage, live stream

Thursday is here and the slate is still light. Still, there’s softball to be played.

A lot happened in a minuscule slate of softball on Wednesday!

First thing’s first: Texas A&M lost. I know. Knock me over with a feather too. But it happened. After starting out the season 15-0, the Aggies finally found themselves in the loss column, losing 1-0 to in-state rival Houston. The Cougars took ‘em down thanks to a single in the third inning, and the Aggie offense couldn’t quite muster up anything after that. With the A&M loss, every team in the conference has now suffered at least one loss. So it goes.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, was able to reel off their 10th win in a row, escaping with a 4-3 win over Louisiana Tech in eight innings. The Rebels won their home opener thanks in part to a walk-off homer from Brittany Finney. It was Finney’s fourth home run of the season and perhaps her most crucial to this point. Not bad, eh?

Finally, Arkansas kept it rolling as they defeated Oklahoma State 7-6. The Hogs have now won four in a row after losing to FAU back on February 24 and stand at 12-1 on the season. A four-run outburst in the sixth inning, highlighted by a grand slam (!!) by the hot-hitting Nicole Schroeder gave Arkansas a 7-4 lead that they would not relinquish. Schroeder has now driven in 28 (!!) RBI in 13 games and has a slugging percentage of 1.333. Seems good? Seems good.
