The SEC named their Player and Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon, and the awards will be headed to Gainesville and Auburn, as Florida Gators guard Chris Chiozza and Auburn Tigers guard Jared Harper received this week’s honors.

Chiozza did a little bit of everything in Florida’s 2-0 week against Missouri and Kentucky, as the junior guard averaged seven points, 10.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists in the two victories. Chiozza recorded the fourth triple-double in Florida history against Missouri, with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists off the bench. Chiozza was the nation’s first player since 2008 to record a triple-double off the bench. He followed that up with nine rebounds and nine assists in Florida’s upset of Kentucky.

Harper averaged 17.5 points per game in Auburn’s 1-1 week against Tennessee and Alabama. He had 11 of his 14 points in the second half in the victory against Alabama, and tied a season-high with five three-pointers against the Volunteers.
