Two games are on the docket for Wednesday as SEC softball will retake the spotlight in the middle of the week. In the first game of the day, the South Carolina Gamecocks will look to put their first loss of the season behind them, as they’ll face off with the North Carolina Tar Heels.

One of the names to watch for the Gamecocks will be Krystan White. The junior infielder currently leads the team in batting average (.429), on-base (.536) and slugging percentage (.667) and has been a force at the plate, racking up three extra-base hits, driving in 13 runs and getting 14 total bases. We’ll see if White can keep up that torrid pace on Wednesday and going forward after that.

After losing two straight, the Alabama Crimson Tide are looking to get things back on track as they face the North Florida Ospreys at home.

With a little help from freshman Bailey Hemphill, the Tide are looking to return to the win column after their winning streak was snapped by UL Lafayette this past weekend. The freshman’s slugging percentage of .870 currently leads the team, and Hemphill also stands on top in home runs (3) and RBI (12). If Hemphill gets her bat going, the confidence in the rest of the team may follow.
