On January 18, Florida and South Carolina were both unbeaten in the SEC going into their first matchup, a 57-53 Gamecock win in Columbia. The Gators lost their next game to Vanderbilt and has reeled off eight straight wins since then, while South Carolina’s lost three of its last four. Tonight comes the rematch in Gainesville and UF likely needs a win to keep pace with Kentucky, as the Wildcats go to Mizzou Arena tonight.
Auburn travels to LSU in LSU’s last real chance for a second SEC win. The Tigers don’t have more than a 25% chance of winning its remaining three games (per KenPom.com) if they don’t win tonight. And Mississippi State looks to snap a four-game losing streak as Ole Miss comes to town.
Odds and Picks
Season to Date: 96-122-1 ATS
- Auburn at LSU (+3): I will, of course, probably regret this. These two teams play as much defense as is played in the NBA All-Star Game and while LSU is not very good, they’ve at least shown signs of life at home in recent weeks.
- South Carolina at Florida (-10): Florida is rolling and South Carolina is suddenly struggling. Being a Gamecock basketball fan has to be brutal.
- Kentucky (-16) at Missouri: This seems like a lot for Kentucky to cover, but I’d bet on them winning by 20 before I’d bet on this being a close game.
- Ole Miss (+2) at Mississippi State: Ole Miss won the first matchup by 27 and the Bulldogs are on a four-game losing streak, which I think will continue.
