February 18 SEC softball schedule, game times, TV info, online streaming

It’s Saturday, and a heavy slate lies ahead.

Leading Off...

Friday was awfully busy in the world of SEC softball even with three games never officially taking place. Losses were had by a few teams in the conference as Missouri, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Kentucky were on the receiving end of defeats at least once during the day.

On the flipside though, some teams were able to grab victories in bunches. Georgia swept a doubleheader against Northern Kentucky and UL Monroe, outscoring them 16-0 in the process; Florida chomped Florida A&M and Northwestern State, winning by the combined score of 17-4; and South Carolina certainly flexed their muscles, outscoring Texas and Indiana 22-9.

2nd-ranked Auburn was able to defeat Creighton and SIU Edwardsville awfully soundly, winning 8-0 and 8-1 respectively. 4th-ranked Alabama was set to face UL Lafayette, but due to other circumstances, they will now play a doubleheader later today. Not to be outdone, 17th-ranked Texas A&M picked up a sweep of their own, outscoring Stephen F. Austin and Missouri State 13-0 on Friday.

Apart from the doubleheader between Alabama and UL Lafayette, two other Top 25 matchups are set to take place. Kentucky faces off with UCLA yet again and Mizzou gets yet another crack at Arizona State late in the day. Apart from that, a few matchups may catch the eye based on name brand alone but in most cases, the teams of the SEC should see lots of success on Saturday. If not, well, you know who to blame.
