Leading Off...
Only two games went on in the world of softball. And as we expected, both Mississippi State and Auburn won those games.
The Tigers needed a bit more effort than the Bulldogs did to get the W. Auburn was deadlocked with SIU Edwardsville after six innings of play but found a way to win after Carmyn Greenwood connected on a single to center field to win the game.
Mississippi State meanwhile held a 4-1 advantage after three innings and would preserve that through the entirety of the game. Emily Heimberger had a two-hit day against Fresno State as she collected two singles and a run scored.

Ole Miss gets to get a crack at one of the best teams in the country as they’ll battle with Oklahoma later in the afternoon. Auburn will look to keep their winning ways going meanwhile as they’ll play two against Creighton and against SIU Edwardsville again later on in the day.
Two Top 25 matchups are primed to go down as 23rd-ranked Kentucky plays 7th-ranked Auburn and the Alabama Crimson Tide faces 18th-ranked UL Lafayette. Everyone else? Well, they’re just trying to stay afloat. After all: Seven teams are unbeaten to this point, four more with one loss, and every SEC team is on a winning streak of at least one game.
