South Carolina Gamecocks star Sindarius Thornwell is this week’s recipient of the SEC Player of the Week.
While going 1-1 against the Alabama Crimson Tide and Mississippi State Bulldogs, Thornwell scored a ridiculous 72 points in the two games including 44 in the 4OT loss to the Tide. He dropped the 72 points while taking 41 free throw attempts, making 32 of them, and going 18-for-40 from the field.
Meanwhile, Freshman of the Week honors are shared, as Tennessee Volunteers forward Grant Williams and Texas A&M Aggies forward Robert Williams are the co-recipients of the award. Grant scored 30 in a loss to Georgia and 48 total points last week while shooting 16-for-27 from the field, while Robert dropped 36 combined points vs. Florida and Mizzou while shooting 15-for-28.
