After what felt like a brief, relatively unproblematic search, the Arkansas Razorbacks have hired SMU Mustangs Chad Morris as head coach.

Morris went 14-22 in his three seasons at SMU, but that record is misleading, considering he went 2-10 in his first season at the helm. The Mustangs progressed in each of his three years, and are facing Louisiana Tech in this year’s Frisco Bowl.
His contract with Arkansas is for six years and $21 million, per a release from the school.
Interestingly, Morris is one of the only college football coaches in the nation to have not played college football himself.
Prior to being named a head coach, Morris served as offensive coordinator at Clemson, and helped build the Tigers into the powerhouse they are to this day.
