College Football Playoff: Alabama lands in Top 4

The Tide are here once again, folks.

There’s only one team that’s made the College Football Playoff every year in its existence.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are that team, and here they are again. The Tide made the cut over the Big Ten Champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes, sliding in as a ‘wild card’ of sort as they didn’t win their conference or division. This will no doubt create some shockwaves, but here we are.

Alabama won the CFB Playoff National Championship back in 2015 in Glendale, and is out for revenge for their last-second loss last year in Tampa. Coincidentally enough, they’ll get the chance to do it. They open against the Clemson Tigers, the reigning National Champions, in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Superdome. ‘Bama knows that building pretty well, but hasn’t fared well there the past few years. They, of course, lost their CFB Playoff semifinal in 2014 to Ohio State, and lost to the Oklahoma Sooners a few years back as well, and the Utah Utes.

They did win the whole thing back in January 2012, though.

The Tide join Clemson, Oklahoma and the Georgia Bulldogs in the Top 4. OU won the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, while the ‘Dawgs grabbed the SEC Championship. Alabama or Clemson will face the winner of Oklahoma-Georgia in Atlanta on January 8, 2018 for the National Championship.
