Bowl season marches on for the SEC. There’re a few games on the docket for the conference on Friday, one of which includes the SEC East’s Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats will tackle another pair of Wildcats, these being the purple ones from Northwestern in the 2017 Music City Bowl.
UK comes into the Music City Bowl with a 7-5 record. They got off to a strong start, at one point sitting at 6-2. However, they lost three of their last four to end the year, including their last two to the Louisville Cardinals and Georgia Bulldogs. Nevertheless, they’ll be looking to end the year on a high note in Nashville. Benny Snell, Jr. and the gang are ready to rock and hope to give them their first bowl win since 2008.
Northwestern, meanwhile, comes into this game at 9-3, seeking a 10-win season. These Wildcats got off to a rocky start, as they sat 2-3 after their first five games. However, Pat Fitzgerald righted the ship, as NU has won their last seven entering the Music City Bowl. They went 7-2 in Big Ten competition, their only losses coming to NY6 participants Penn State and Wisconsin. Senior running back Justin Jackson is looking to conclude his college career on the right foot, while Clayton Thorson and Bennett Skowronek look to bring good vibes in Music City.
