Kentucky, fresh off a thrilling comeback victory over Tennessee just a week ago, welcomes the Ole Miss Rebels to Lexington in a matchup with big-time implications for both sides.

For the Wildcats, a win today would propel them to 7-2 on the year, building on a fantastic season that has recently seen the program reach bowl eligibility in October for the first time since the 1970s.

Ole Miss, a program in a bit of disarray after a wild, scandal-filled offseason, could really use a road SEC win, especially after blowing a 31-7 lead last week to a pretty bad Arkansas team.

Kentucky’s hoping that Benny Snell Jr. can build on the success he found last week against Tennessee, a game in which he returned to impressive form, running for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns on 27 carries.

The Wildcats—whose pass defense has left a lot to be desired this year—will need to do everything in their ability to get to Jordan Ta'amu. Honestly, that wouldn’t be too much of an ask for this team either, as Kentucky managed to get plenty of hits on Tennessee’s Jarrett Guarantano last week.

Kentucky must also ensure that it hangs onto the football this week after fumbling four times against Tennessee. They might be a bit thankful that the likelihood of rain today is diminishing, but that rain probably would’ve tipped the scales regarding offensive gameplans in their favor.

Overall, I think Kentucky will be riding some momentum into today, and I’m not sure that Ole Miss will be able to do much in regards to stopping their offense. Plus, if Kentucky’s linebackers continue to play like they did last week, it’s going to be a long afternoon for this Ole Miss offense.
