November 28 SEC Basketball schedule: Time, TV schedule, watch online

Guess who’s back?

NCAA Basketball: South Carolina at Florida International Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

What Happened Last Night

After getting married and then being in Paris for the last week in a half, I’m back.

Last night there was one SEC team in action, as the South Carolina Gamecocks used a 21-2 run to open the second half to put away the FIU Golden Panthers on their way to a 78-61 win over Frank Martin’s alma mater.

Interestingly, that was South Carolina’s second true road game of the season and both have been at mid-majors (the Gamecocks won at Wofford in their season opener.) Chris Silva led the Gamecocks with a career-high 26 points on 10-of-13 from the floor and also had 10 rebounds. Maik Kotsar chipped in 16 points.

Tonight’s Games

Time (ET) Game TV/Streaming
8:00 PM South Dakota State at Ole Miss SEC Network+/WatchESPN
8:00 PM Radford at Vanderbilt SEC Network/WatchESPN

Every year, it seems, the basketball schedule is loaded during Thanksgiving week and then slows down thereafter; after one game last night, just two SEC teams are in action tonight.

The Vanderbilt Commodores host the Radford Highlanders as they look to end a three-game losing streak, though those three losses all came against teams that are considerably better than Radford (USC, Virginia, and Seton Hall.) The Commodores are 2-4 on the season but haven’t taken a loss that really hurts their NCAA Tournament chances, but a loss against the Highlanders — which are #182 in KenPom -- would probably change that.

That’s the SEC Network game, but the game on the SEC Network+ — streaming only — might actually be more interesting. The Ole Miss Rebels host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, which are 6-2 with a win over Iowa and have one of the country’s best players you’ve never heard of in Mike Daum, who’s currently averaging 19.4 ppg (and that’s a dropoff from the 25.1 ppg he averaged last year.)
