No changes, no chaos and no real losses means the top of the CFB Playoff Rankings didn’t change much this week.
The Alabama Crimson Tide remain as the No. 1 team in the land heading into Rivalry Week. The Tide rolled over Mercer this past weekend, as expected, and they’ll obviously have themselves a much stiffer test this weekend.
That test will be against the Auburn Tigers, who rank No. 6 in the land. Auburn bowled through the UL Monroe Hawks, and will host Alabama in a highly anticipated Iron Bowl encounter Saturday.
The Georgia Bulldogs will have to just get through the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to assure themselves of a quality win in the SEC Championship Game, if they land it. UGA is No. 7 again after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats in Athens last Saturday.
The Top 4 of Alabama, the Clemson Tigers, Miami-Florida Hurricanes and Oklahoma Sooners stays the same after last week’s shakeup. The Wisconsin Badgers remain on the outside looking in at 5th, but will have a hearty chance to jump into the field in the Big Ten Title Game if they handle the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
