The Georgia Bulldogs’ stay atop the of the College Football Playoff rankings only lasted two weeks. In the third edition of the CFP rankings, it’s the Alabama Crimson Tide who have the No. 1 spot. The Tide hopped to the top spot after their win over the ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs this past Saturday night in Starkville. ‘Bama is unblemished at this point, and seems to be on a collision course with their rivals, the Auburn Tigers, who they meet in the Iron Bowl at the end of the year.
Speaking of Auburn, their beatdown of the Georgia Bulldogs caused the ‘Dawgs to fall out of the Top 4. UGA is now at No. 7, with a few weeks remaining to reestablish themselves. Luckily, Georgia will be representing the SEC East in Atlanta, so they’ll have another shot to get back in the title picture.
Auburn, meanwhile, is now at No. 6 after their romp of Georgia.
The remainder of the Top 4 features the Clemson Tigers, Miami Hurricanes and Oklahoma Sooners, two of whom won big matchups this weekend against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and TCU Horned Frogs. Clemson beat the Florida State Seminoles at home, meanwhile.
Full rankings will be found below soon.
