The Alabama Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the country once again.
Alabama’s reign at the top continues on after the Tide took down Texas A&M in College Station. As a result, the Tide are No. 1 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. ‘Bama received the most first-place in both polls. The Clemson Tigers were the only other to receive No. 1 votes in the polls, this after defeating Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
The Georgia Bulldogs are as high as 4th in the AP poll and 5th in the USA TODAY polls this week. Georgia’s increase comes after defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville this past weekend. The Dawgs haven’t been higher than 5th in the AP Top 25 since the week of November 18, 2012. Georgia was ranked 3rd at that point in time.
Making their way into the Top 10 in the AP poll is the Auburn Tigers. The Tigers stormed their way to the 10 spot after bullrushing the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend. It’s the first time this season that Auburn has made it into the Top 10. It’s the highest ranking they’ve received since being 8th in the country the week of November 6, 2016. Auburn was also ranked 11th in the USA TODAY poll.
No other SEC teams made the cut this week. Teams from the conference who received votes include LSU, Florida, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and South Carolina.
