Jake Bentley continued to look like one of the SEC’s premier quarterbacks, as the South Carolina Gamecocks powered past the Arkansas Razorbacks, 48-22.
Bentley, who finished the day with 16-31 with 199 passing yards and three touchdowns, continued to impress as he crossed the 1000-yard threshold on the season.
Perhaps more impressively, each of Bentley’s touchdowns went to a different receiver. With Hayden Hurst hauling in the first score, then Skai Moore, then Ty'Son Williams. Hurst’s touchdown, in particular, stood out.

This game really represents a step in the right direction for the Gamecocks, who have seemingly found a way to win games despite the loss of dynamic playmaker Deebo Samuel.
Meanwhile, for Arkansas, it appears that Bret Bielema’s gigantic buyout may be the only thing adding to his job security at this point.
Arkansas got beat in pretty much every facet of the game, and it’s certainly not ideal heading into their Alabama and Auburn stretch of the schedule. While the 2-3 Razorbacks could still turn it around and become bowl eligible, it’s certainly starting to look like an uphill battle.
On the other hand, South Carolina is starting to look like they’re in a favorable position, as they sit at 4-2 with Tennessee, Wofford, and Florida still on the schedule. It’s likely that they will be able to pick up two wins in those three games, if not be able to play spoiler in a couple other games along the way.
