The top of the polls this week are still the same, as the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs are still #1 and #3.
Alabama’s reign at the top will live on for another week on after the Tide defeated the Tennessee Volunteers in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. The Tide are No. 1 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA TODAY Coaches Poll this week, a unanimous choice in each.
UGA is still the consensus No. 3 team in the nation following their bye week. They’ll head into the World’s Largest Cocktail Party with the No. 3 spot, and a chance to essentially have the SEC East in hand if they’re able to upend the Florida Gators.
The Auburn Tigers hopped up to No. 19 in both polls after their dominant win over the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Tigers slipped to 21st last week in both polls, but were able to rebound impressively in Fayetteville on Saturday night. They will have their bye week this time around before entering a brutal stretch in November, facing three ranked teams as of now.
One of those teams is the Texas A&M Aggies, who retained their No. 24 spot after an idle week. They will be tested this week against invigorated Mississippi State, who have reeled off two impressive wins in a row, including a blowout win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.
The LSU Tigers are No. 23 in both polls after Saturday night’s win over the Ole Miss Rebels. The Tigers hopped up one and two spots in the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY poll following the win, and enter their bye week with a new sense of optimism abound.
Mississippi State, South Carolina, Florida and Kentucky all received votes this week.
