The Alabama Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the country. Again.
After taking down the Ole Miss Rebels in Tuscaloosa, the Tide are No. 1 team in both the AP Top 25 and the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. ‘Bama once again received the most first-place in both polls. The Clemson Tigers were the only other to receive No. 1 votes in the polls after defeating the Virginia Tech Hokies.
The Georgia Bulldogs jumped up to 5th and 6th in the AP and USA TODAY polls this week. After blanking Tennessee 41-0, UGA is up to their highest ranking in quite some time. Their spot of 6th in the Coaches Poll is the highest since being 6th on September 27, 2015. Their spot of 5th in the AP Top 25 is the highest since being 5th in the 2013 Preseason AP Top 25.
Unlike the last few weeks, only two other teams from the SEC hold positions in the polls. The Auburn Tigers rank 12th in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY polls. The Tigers are fresh off of a thumping of the Mississippi St. Bulldogs at home on Saturday night. They jaunted up one spot in the AP poll and two spots in the Coaches poll.
The other team to still lie in the polls is the Florida Gators. Following their win over the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Gators stand at No. 21 and No. 20 in the AP and USA TODAY polls this week. Those are the same spots that they were in a week ago.
Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Texas A&M and received votes in one or both polls this week.
