January 3 SEC Basketball Schedule: TV, Tip Times, How to Watch, Streaming, Odds and Picks

Will the home teams hold serve tonight?

NCAA Basketball: Tennessee at Texas A&M Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight’s Schedule

Arkansas at Tennessee (6:30 PM ET, SEC Network/WatchESPN): Tennessee opened SEC play with a surprise win at Texas A&M, while Arkansas (in a recurring theme last Thursday) dropped its SEC opener at home to Florida. So now the Razorbacks are in desperate need of a win, and while I don't necessarily like picking them on the road there’s great value in doing so as the oddsmakers seem to have overreacted to Thursday’s results. PICK: Arkansas (+2)

Ole Miss at Florida (7:00 PM ET, ESPNU/WatchESPN): Florida established themselves as perhaps the top non-Kentucky team in the SEC in nonconference play, and the Gators gave us no reason to question that placement in a road win over Arkansas. I expect the Gators to win this fairly comfortably. PICK: FLORIDA (-13)

Alabama at Mississippi State (8:30 PM ET, SEC Network/WatchESPN): This is the SEC opener for both, and while Mississippi State is 9-3, per Ken Pomeroy they've only played one team better than Alabama, and that resulted in a 25-point loss to UCF. I think the Bulldogs will get a dose of reality tonight. PICK: Alabama (+1.5)

Texas A&M at Kentucky (9:00 PM ET, ESPN/WatchESPN): This probably seemed like a better game when ESPN decided to broadcast it on the mothership. Instead, the Aggies are coming off a home loss to Tennessee and I don't think A&M has enough guard play to hang with the Wildcats at Rupp. PICK: KENTUCKY (-14)
