Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) Kentucky 85-74, 85%
Florida vs. Alabama (9 p.m. ET, ESPNU) Florida 68-62, 69%
Mississippi St. vs. Arkansas (9 p.m. ET, SEC Network) Arkansas 81-70, 83%
Auburn vs. Mizzou (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network) Auburn 75-73, 56%

A light SEC schedule is in the works tonight as the first day of no football gets underway. The action will all be on the hardwood until baseball and softball begin in February, so be prepared for lots of hoops talk here at Team Speed Kills.

The best game of the night will be a matchup between the Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide. The Gators (12-3) are unbeaten so far through their first three games of conference play and haven’t lost since falling to Florida State 83-78 in Tallahassee on December 11.

To date, that’s their only true road loss of the season and they’ll look to keep that stretch going on Tuesday night when they hit the Coleman Coliseum floor in Tuscaloosa. Both teams enter play tonight with some of the best defenses in the country, so don’t expect points to be scored in bunches.

Kentucky will hit the road and go to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Cats are 4-2 in their last six trips to Vandy but suffered a loss last year to them by the score of 74-62. The ‘Dores have struggled mightily so far this season and come off a 59-56 loss to Alabama entering Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Arkansas and Mississippi State look to get out of the middle of the pack when they face each other this evening. Mississippi State has won four of their last five games and seven of their last nine entering Tuesday while the Hogs have lost two of their last three.

Lastly, Auburn will face Mizzou tonight in a battle between two teams currently locked in the cellar of the SEC. Missouri has been dreadful this season and Auburn meanwhile has lost their first three SEC games. With both teams entering this one winless in conference play, something’s gotta give and one team will earn their first conference win by the end of the night.
