This is a huge get for Georgia coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs. Gibbs chose the ‘Dawgs over Alabama and a host of other elite programs. Gibbs is ranked the No. 3 safety in the class of 2017 and the No. 4 overall player in the state of Georgia.
At 6’2”, 204 pounds, Gibbs has elite size for a safety at the next level. Gibbs has outstanding speed and can easily run with receivers. He could play on offense at Georgia, but defensive back is his ticket to stardom. With his athleticism, the Bulldogs could line Gibbs up at cornerback, too. His instincts and physicality are best suited for safety, though.
The Bulldogs remain at the No. 3 spot in the 247Sports Composite and are poised for a strong finish with several top targets still on the board.
