The Alabama Crimson Tide not only remain undefeated with their 27-19 win over the Texas A&M Aggies, but they also extended their win streak against unranked teams. The streak is now up to 70 following the win in College Station on Saturday night.
While both teams were nearly even in total yards offensively (both teams had a little over 300 yards total), the Aggies were heavily limited on the ground. They rushed for only 71 yards, with 38 of those yards were coming from Trayveon Williams on 15 carries. Williams also led the team in receiving yards with four receptions for 60 yards. A&M quarterback Kellen Mond completed 19 of his 29 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Alabama’s offense looked pretty good in the game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 13 of 22 of passes for 123 yards and one touchdown. Hurts also rushed for 58 yards on just five carries. Damien Harris was the “Big ‘back on the field” as he had 14 carries for 124 yards with a touchdown. Bo Scarbrough rushed for a ‘paltry’ 55.
It was business as usual for the Crimson Tide defense, as they forced three turnovers. Two were fumbles and one went for an interception.
This may be a great game for the Aggies to prepare for a showdown against the Florida down in The Swamp next week. As for ‘Bama, they welcome the Arkansas Razorbacks to Tuscaloosa.
