SEC football recruiting roundup (August 7, 2016)

We weren’t as active as we were a week ago, but plenty of commits happened around the conference. Here’s how it shook out.

Commits

Alabama

Kendall Randolph (4* 2017 OT, Madison, AL)

Kedrick James (3* 2017 TE, Waco, TX)

Kyriq McDonald (3* 2017 CB, Madison, AL)

Florida

Marco Wilson (4* 2017 CB, Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Zech Byrd (3* 2017 TE, Millbrook, AL)

Kentucky

Cedrick Dort (3* 2017 CB, Palm Beach Gardens, FL)

Mississippi State

Deandre Johnson (3* 2017 WDE, Miami, FL)

South Carolina

TJ Moore (4* 2017 OL, Charlotte, NC)

Biggest Splashes

South Carolina: Will Muschamp scored him a very talented offensive lineman who can play both guard and tackle with the addition of TJ Moore of Charlotte. Moore is the second-best player in South Carolina’s 2017 recruiting class as of now which is up to 19 commits at the moment. Moore is just behind Union, South Carolina athlete Shi Smith and is the sixth-best player in the state of North Carolina.

Florida: Jim McElwain and his staff also did plenty of work this week in landing Marco Wilson and Zech Byrd. Wilson is the more talented of the two at his position by stars and is Top 30 at his position and Top 35 in his state. That’s not to say Byrd is a slouch though as he should be able to aid the offense when he eventually sees the field next year.

Five teams were able to score commits this week. What lies ahead this week? Time will tell.
