Auburn Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn has dismissed running back Jovon Robinson from the team, according to John Zenor of the AP.

As a junior in his first year at Auburn after transferring from Georgia Military College, Robinson finished second on the team with 639 rushing yards on 117 carries, good for a 5.5 ypg average, and also ran for three touchdowns and caught one pass for 20 yards.

With this move, Auburn’s top three rushers from the 2015 season are now going, with leading rusher Peyton Barber leaving early for the NFL draft and third-leading rusher Roc Thomas transferring. That leaves sophomore Kerryon Johnson, who rushed for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns on 52 carries in 2015, as the only returning running back from last season.

This likely means four-star freshman Kam Martin, who flipped from Baylor over the summer after Art Briles was fired, will play a bigger role than anticipated, and four-star recruit Malik Miller — who’s really more of a fullback -- could see action as well.
