Earlier this afternoon, Tennessee bolstered their 2017 recruiting class by adding 4-star running back Ty Chandler.

With the commitment, the Volunteers add another skilled in-state prospect. Chandler stands at 5'11", yet isn't just limited to being a between-the-tackles back. With Tennessee, losing both Jalen Hurd and potentially Alvin Kamara next season to the NFL draft, Chandler could have the chance to step in immediately and become the featured back.
Last season at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Chandler ran for 2,015 yards on 283 attempts with 26 touchdowns to boot. Chandler now gives Tennessee 24 total commitments for the 2017 class, and is the second running back commitment in the class along with Louisiana-native Trey Coleman.
Aside from Tennessee, Chandler received offers from SEC foes Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Florida, along with Duke, Ohio State & USC.
Chandler ranked 92nd overall on the latest Scout.com recruiting rankings, and the 9th best running back in the 2017 class.
