Even with the eyes of the college baseball university focused on the Super Regionals, and the MLB regular season in full swing, the 2016 MLB First Year Player Draft opened Thursday night with two (plus) rounds of selections. In addition to the first two rounds, a pair of "competitive balance lottery" rounds took place, where teams were awarded picks for lost free agents. In all, 77 picks were made Thursday. 14 of those 77 are current SEC players.
