Meet Michael Tate, Team Speed Kills' newest contributor

Team Speed Kills' newest writer brings six years of professional writing experience.

Greetings,

My name is Michael Tate and i'll be joining the writing staff here at TSK. I have a deep passion and knowledge base of SEC sports. I wanted to give you all a brief description of my career so far and also my background in sports.

I played football (Quarterback) and ran track (400/800 Meters) at Acadiana High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, where we won multiple state titles and countless games. After graduating from high school I attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

While attending school there, I also participated in internship programs at two local newspapers - The Daily Advertiser and Natchitoches Times. I covered everything from high school track to girls volleyball and even did box scores for football games. I had the pleasure of developing and cultivating multiple relationships within the SEC community during this time.

I quickly realized that in today's continuously changing and evolving media culture that I would have to expand my brand to make it in this business. Therefore, I knew that coming to TSK and SB Nation by affiliation that I could accomplish this goal. I look forward to giving you not only the most up to date coverage but also unbiased, fact-driven opinions.
