NFL Draft 2016: Jarran Reed flies high as a Seahawk

Out to the West Coast best coast, baby.

An East Mississippi Community College transfer, Jarran Reed turned down Florida and Ole Miss in favor of Alabama. Reed’s stats include 111 tackles, a 2014 All-SEC honorable mention, 2015 Second-Team All-SEC honors as a senior, with 57 tackles the same season to boot. He’s proven to be unstoppable against Georgia and doesn’t have the worst reviews:

Reed occupies multiple blockers and plugs rushing lanes better than any interior lineman in this draft. He showed the ability to beat double- and triple-teams on multiple occasions at the Senior Bowl. Reed's pass-rushing skills leave a lot to be desired; he's not a threat to penetrate with first-step quickness and he shows a limited array of pass-rush moves. But he did improve in this area, registering eight QB hurries in his final season at Alabama - ESPN’s Todd McShay

Jarran Reed has much to celebrate beyond his becoming a Seahawk- he’s got a 2 week old daughter back at home.

Best of luck to Jarran Reed going forward with his new team!
