NFL Draft 2016: Alabama's Derrick Henry selected for the Titans

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Derrick Henry is probably best known for breaking Herschel Walker's single-season college rushing yards record in the SEC in two more games but about 40 fewer carries than Walker. He also won the 2015 Heisman Trophy, as well as the Doak Walker Award, the Maxwell Award, and the Walter Camp Award.

Impressive guy. Some were surprised not to see Henry selected in the first round, but Todd McShay was quoted as saying:

The offensive line is good, but we’re not talking about the same offensive line talent that they have had there in years past," McShay said. "I look at what he’s done, and it makes it even more impressive, considering he’s not running behind one of the elite, freakish groups that Alabama’s had.

Either way, Henry will be staying close by to his alma mater. Congrats Derrick Henry!
